How NASA Uses Render Time Procedurals for Scientific Data Visualization

Author(s)/Presenter(s): Kel Elkins, NASA, USRA, United States of America
Greg Shirah, NASA, United States of America

Abstract: At NASA’s Scientific Visualization Studio, we have implemented methods to procedurally read science data files and generate graphics at render time. This procedural workflow accelerates visualization production and iteration.

PaintersView: Automatic Suggestion of Optimal Viewpoints for 3D Texture Painting

Author(s)/Presenter(s): Yuka Takahashi, The University of Tokyo, Japan
Tsukasa Fukusato, The University of Tokyo, Japan
Takeo Igarashi, The University of Tokyo, Japan

Abstract: To solve the tedious manual viewpoint operation problem, we propose an automatic suggestion of optimal viewpoints for 3D texture painting. We will show a demo and the user study results.
