Speaker(s): Inigo Quilez, Shadertoy, United States of America

Abstract:Creating images by coding mathematics was a necessity for the early CG pioneers of the 80s. Today, the industry is mature and artists create beautiful content with powerful tools and workflows within sophisticated pipelines. However, Inigo discovered through his professional career that making images with raw mathematics and from first principles is still relevant and actually is an advantage to those that practice it. In this talk Inigo will share his experience with creating images with mathematics through his life and professional career, as well as his artistic and technical creative process within both the film and realtime rendering industries.

Speaker(s) Bio: Inigo self taught CG through the Demoscene and worked in industrial VR in the mid 2000s. Then he joined Pixar as a Technical Artists of procedural vegetation and landscapes, winning a VES award for his production work in "Brave".
