Institution Profile:Located in the heart of Kyoto, College of Image Arts and Sciences, Ritsumeikan University is an educational institution helping students aim for an understanding on how to produce a variety of media, including film, CG animation, video games, media arts, virtual reality, human interface, content business, archiving and digital interactive entertainment. Wellington ICT Graduate School, Victoria University of WellingtonOur Master of Design Technology is taught out of the Miramar Creative Centre (a partnership with Miramar Creative among the Weta group buildings) at 133 Park Rd, Miramar, Wellington 6022, New Zealand. Three of our programmes (Master of Software Development, Master of User Experience Design and Master of Professional Business Analysis) are taught at NEC House at 40 Taranaki Street, Te Aro, Wellington 6011, New Zealand.
Deadline:Applications are open for the 2020 intake on a rolling basis until the programmes start. Our Master of Design Technology starts in March 2020 and our other programmes start in July 2020.
Institution Profile:We’re a joint initiative between Victoria University of Wellington, Whitireia New Zealand and Wellington Institute of Technology (WelTec) to help kick-start people into Wellington’s thriving technology industry. Our one-year Master programmes were created with input from the industry and are designed to build upon people’s existing talents and skills, providing hands-on experience and real world projects. We create direct pathways from education into employment whilst building connections between tertiary education providers and high-tech firms. We deliver relevant and diverse programmes with project and team based learning to fill the growing technology industry’s needs. We have six unique Master-level programmes. One is our Master of Design Technology which builds upon the existing digital media skills students have acquired in an undergraduate degree. Students will learn industry leading software and techniques from our experienced lecturers to tell stories with visual effects (VFX), gaming, animation, and extended reality (XR). We have connections with and are supported by organisations like Weta Digital and SideFX. We, also, have conversion programmes where you can change careers or upskill into a new area. Our Master of Software Development is one of these, our respected lecturers teach students core programming skills and concepts before allowing them to apply them typically in paid internships where they work on real-world projects with local businesses.
