Description: For a beginner, walking into SIGGRAPH Asia is a very intimidating experience. There is so much to see and so much to do, but everyone there seems to be speaking a language beginners are not familiar with. This course is for them! Rather than kicking new attendees off the dock and expecting them to swim at SIGGRAPH Asia, the Whirlwind Introduction course’s purpose is to give anyone who wants it a base background in the concepts and terminology that they need to get more from the different venues in the conference. It is like a “pre-course” in that it should be held before anything else in the conference and is more fundamental than any other introductory activities. The notes will also include an annotated bibliography.
